Why does my son have light brown hair and my daughter has dark?

My husband and i cant seem to find out why… my sister is light with light hair so maybe .. sometimes people tell me whos kid is that? Like bitch hes mine and my husbands. Its sooo annoying like a kid cant look different and think  its somebody elses kid .. so fucked up . I felt sick to my stomach when my husbands family was saying tell me who he looks like cuz  we all have dark hair.  My daughter has dark brown hair ..

It's just genetics. My husband is light skinned but looks tan because he works outside a lot. I'm tan and we both have dark brown hair, he has hazel eyes and I have dark brown eyes. My middle child is light skinned, blonde and blue eyed lmao it's all just chance. My oldest is tan with dark hair and dark eyes and my youngest is light skinned with dark hair and blue eyes

It’s always possible my kids all have different coloured eyes. I have one blonde, one golden or dark blonde and two brown. My husband is dark brown and me medium.

A lot of kids in my family including myself had light hair until about age 4. Later it got really dark like our parent’s hair. 
Regardless, a lot of kids’ features aren’t well defined til later. I have a niece who looked like her mom and last year I noticed she no longer looks like her mom but instead resembles her dad a lot now. It’s so weird how these things work.

My oldest has brown hair, my middle is blonde and my youngest is a redhead. We have one of each flavor in my house 😂 and I have black hair and my husband is a redhead also. 🤷🏻‍♀️ you never know what you’re going to get.

Because genetics are wild. My sister {oldest} is blonde hair blue eyes and my brother and I are brown hair brown eyes. We are 100% blood related siblings as well. Same happened for my grandma’s children - her oldest has blonde hair blue eyes and my mom and her younger brother have brown hair brown eyes 🤷🏻‍♀️ all very much related

As others have said genetics are just wild. My husband and I both have dark brown hair and features and hazel eyes. Our firstborn has golden brown hair and bright blue/green eyes. Our youngest has strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. Especially with our youngest everyone is like how’d you get a blonde kid?! But my MIL is blonde and my grandfather and uncle are strawberry blonde. You always figure it’s just you and your SO weighing in to features but it’s all the lineage.

it’s dna and it can be quite tricky sometimes. it’s the pigment called phenomelanin that was produced while baby was baking. people have no clue how far down genetics work etc. just bc one child looks like everyone else doesn’t mean the next will look the same.if less melanin was produced babies hair would be lighter if more melanin was produced baby’s hair would be darker.
