Is it “tacky” to donate plasma for extra Christmas money”

My partner will not let me donate plasma for some extra Christmas money for our sons gifts because he says that’s “what junkies do” and that it’s “tacky”. I’m a stay at home mom and have no other way to get extra money I’ve told him donating is for a good cause it’s not tacky it helps people who need it and would be some extra money but he won’t budge on it.
