My kid is 11 months almost 1. Since he was a small baby i’ve been calling him by his actual as well as nicknames, my mom only calls him nicknames. When he was about 6 or 7 months i would call him by his name and he would respond by looking. now he only responds to his name/nicknames some times. i’ll call his name and he would ignore me and then i’ll continue to say it and then eventually he’ll look other times he won’t. also sometimes i’ll say his name and he’ll look on the first call. Should i be worried? He does react/respond to other stuff. like i’ll say “give me a kiss” without even poking my lips out and he’ll lean in and poke his lips to give me a kiss. also if he’s doing something that he’s not suppose to be doing and i say “no or stop” he knows what it mean and would cry a little and stop doing whatever it is that he’s not suppose to be doing. He also knows how to do the hand gesture “bye bye”. he also knows what “come one” means. if he’s on the floor crawling and i say “come one” he’ll start following me” or if he’s sitting on the bed and i say “come on” he’ll reach his arms out so i can pick him up. my only issue is that he only reply to his name sometimes but not all times.
