I am so grateful to be 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant! I have had 2 miscarriages in the past and never gotten this far in pregnancy before!!

I live in the UK and have just had my booking appointment yesterday which has really made this all seem real.

I recently started a new temporary role via an agency only 2 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. The role is supposed to last until Jan 20th but the company has put me forward to become permanent which I am so happy about 😁 however I am worried about informing them of my pregnancy, I am too scared to tell them before I am officially hired as permanent as even though you're not allowed to discriminate I do feel like it would impact their decision. l especially since there is also a man being hired for a similar role.

Am I obliged to let them know before a certain point in my pregnancy? Will i receive maternity leave and pay if I am hired as permanent at around the 16-20 week mark? I have tried to research my rights and what I will be entitled to but there isn't much clear information on this kind of situation so if anyone could help at all with any advice I would really appreciate it!! 😊
