I also live 45 min from the hospital. I’d personally wait until they are 1 minute long, 5 minutes apart, and they stay that way for 1 hour straight. Also strong enough that you cannot walk or talk through them.

I would call your on call oB office especially if you live that far away

Dr advised me to go in if I have 5 or more in one hour. Painful ? Then go. Better safe.
