How many times I've been told that. I'm not a first time mother. Today being the latest. I had my beautiful 4month old daughter with me and was doing some Christmas shopping when an older employee said"wow that is a beautiful baby girl but you just wait until shes a toddler" it took me back and floored me a bit as I walked out of the store. Just wait until they're a toddler, just wait until theyre 7,10, 13, 16 and so on. People attempting to make parents dread the next stage. How about just wait until they run up and hug you. Just wait until you watch them learn new skills. Yes each season of life with your children comes with trials and hardships but each season is also so rewarding. Yes toddlers have tantrums and meltdowns but they're simply learning how to deal with and understand life. How to communicate. How to do everything.

So please should you ever say you just wait until......... say something positive.
