How do you count your dpo?

I feel like I’ve been counting it wrong. 
When I count it manually im 12 dpo but the Flo app says it’s only 10dpo. 
How is that possible ?

The apps are usually wrong because go from the average and since women aren't robots, ovulation is often not the 'typical' timings. 
The only way to accurately confirm ovulation at home, is to track bbt. There's a degree of inaccuracy when going from ovulation strips as a postive doesn't mean you'll ovulate that day - it could be up to 2 days later. Once you've confirmed ovulation, 1DPO will be the following day and so on.
