Only 2lbs in 5 months???

My two year old has only gained 2lbs in 5 months. Is this normal? She is a VERY picky eater. Should I contact the doctor?

Yes it's normal. Weight slows down and especially if they were a really chunky baby it slows down even more. My son was super chunky and probably from 2-3 he barely gained any weight at all while he lost his baby chunk. Doctor wasn't concerned. And he's eats pretty good

Their weight slows down and their height keeps going in toddler years. As long as they’re on their growth curve, it should be fine. Our 4.5 year old only gained about 4 lbs in the last year, but he’s on his curve so we’re not worried about it. He isn’t a picky eater either and eats quite a bit, but they have high metabolisms at this age.

That’s plenty normal. Growth slows down once they become toddlers. They won’t be gaining as rapidly as in the infant days.

My two year old held steady for like 6 months once, hit a growth spurt and literally was eating everything on site (normally super picky) and he gained a couple lbs…if you feel something is off for sure consult with your dr though
