Vitex experiences anyone? So many questions
So at the beginning of April of this year I had a chemical, in July I had a d&c for a mmc (fell pregnant in May, baby measured 6 weeks at 8 weeks with no heartbeat) and I am prettttty sure I had another chemical in September (two positives immediately followed by my period). Before the chemical, I had my iud of 4 years removed. I’ve had successful pregnancies before now. My doctor said he believes I have low progesterone. Since the iud removal, my perfect 28 day cycle (before the iud was placed- I had no cycle with it) has been anywhere from 23-26 days long, recently spotting before and after my periods, my periods are short (2-3 days long) and light. My LP when I was charting was only 9ish days long. I travel for work, with my partner, so haven’t had testing done yet, but thought I’d try Vitex to lengthen my LP, and straighten out my cycles. My provider said 🤷🏼♀️. I started it this last cycle on day 9, after my period ended, because that’s when I received it. I had a positive OPK on cd12, earlier than cycles before (usually it’s cd16 or so). Im more monitoring than trying to conceive (right now), so I’m not charting…my period came on cd 25, but I didn’t spot this time for a couple days before. So I think it lengthened my LP, but when I started, my period was pretty dang heavy. I haven’t had that heavy of a period in a long time. I also bled for a whole 5 days (lately it’s been 2 days on, one off, one on). It felt like a normal period. But Vitex I thought helped progesterone, and I thought heavier periods were associated with high estrogen? Could it just be my first “normal” period since the iud removal? Or is the Vitex not doing what it’s supposed to? I know it takes a couple months, this period was just so vastly different than my last several, so was wondering what others experiences with this was.
