Interaction on Abilify

I think Im having an allergic reaction to a new medication. I have hives all over - neck, face, front and back of legs, thighs, arms, shoulders, belly, hips, etc. The spots are red and pissed off.

Went to the er on 12/4 because my tongue felt fuzzy and thick. 3+ hours later they said it was either from anxiety, dehydration, or something environmental.

Its gotten way worse today - my fingers are super thick and swollen and hurt. The tops of my feet burn too.

Has anyone had an allergic reaction to this medication or wellbutrin?

Call your prescribing doctor. If this started when you started Wellbutrin STOP the medication as this sounds dangerous. It’s not recommended to stop meds like that cold turkey but you’re very likely having an allergic reaction. Call the prescribing doctor.

Makes sense. New meds interacted with previous ones. And that you might need the shot. Hope things get better.

Thank you! I called my med lady and her nurse thinks its the wellbutrin that caused the reaction. Ive been on wellbutrin for a couple weeks and abilify for like 5 days maybe. There was a reaction on days 2-5 with yesterday being the worst. I left a message saying that Im not going to take the abilify anymore to see if thats what triggered this reaction. I also called my main pcp and he thinks I need to stop taking the abilify and if it gets worse Id probably have to go in for a shot of epinephrine or something like that😔

Wow that’s not good. Maybe some Benedryl. Hopefully it doesn’t get bad enough that you need prednisone or a shot of an epipendfren.

I tried benadryl and a med they prescribed. Plus a cool bath with oatmeal stuff and baking soda then put on an eczema lotion all over the bad spots (basically everywhere). If its not better by tomorrow Im going to see my pcp or going to urgent care so I can get fluids and hopefully something to stop this🤞
