Genital warts

So my bf just told me that he had genital warts at some point. We always had protected sex except twice, and he didn’t cum inside me. So now I don’t really know what to do with this information. Should we never have unprotected sex? What if we want to try for a baby? Can I catch it even when it’s not active?

What should I do or not do?
