Is an induction scary?

I sound like a wimp lol but I’m scheduled ￼for an early induction tomorrow due to my preeclampsia but is an induction like painful or anything i just kinda don’t know what to expect and it’s stressing me out more than it should

I got induced with my 2nd pregnancy because he was pastdue and They broke my water first and then started The pitocin But the pitocin kept making my son's heart drop really low every time we had contractions and im sure that's not the case for everyone just my own experience But it was a lot more painful than my 1st natural birth

I was induced with my first daughter for the same reason, for me it was forever also. Labor took about 3-4 days. Delivery was probably an hour or two. It doesn’t hurt, and like another commenter mentioned once you feel the pain you can get the epidural, which would most likely happen because with preeclampsia they don’t want your BP too high as it could be bad for you and or baby, this is what they told me.
I’m sure you do know that having a baby comes with pain though no matter what.

Not painful at all. In my experience it took forever to get my body to get going. I had preeclampsia with my daughter and my first pregnancy so I was induced. It was a very long labor. I think it took 27 hours to finally give birth. But it was not painful and once you start to feel pain you can get the epidural 👍🏻 with my second kiddo, my son, my husband and I had sex that morning and then he decided to arrive hours later and I gave birth to him within 45 minutes. So much different than the first!

Any time I get pregnant I have the understanding and have come to accept that I will be induced. I have never had a natural birth (without pitocin), I have a condition called Hydronephrosis which makes the end of my pregnancies very painful the bigger baby gets. So far that makes 5 inductions (6 come july/august.) My first one was probably the worse, not knowing what to expect, not knowing how to cope it was also my longest labor, since then though it has gotten better to handle and my last labor in Jan 2022 was about 3 hours. The best advice I can give is know what your tolerance is, and don't ever hesitate to ask them to lower the does or stop it. Also just be open to change as far as your birth plan goes

My first induction wasn't too scary, it was rushed and that's what made it scary if that makes sense. I was not prepared mentally or physically. Baby girl had other plans. Since I wasn't ready physically, I had to be given medication to soften my cervix. The next day my OB came in and broke my water at around 8 am. I cried during that because she hurt me (it's not supposed to hurt at all). She was just rough. I was given pitocin shortly after and by 8pm I was almost at 10 cm but my daughter was "sunny side up" or face up and would not turn over. They tried everything. Then her hurt rate started to decline the more they tried so they stopped and send me for an emergency C-section. 
With my second, I had a planned induction. It was less traumatic. I went in in the morning, got all hooked up on monitors. My nurse told me to order breakfast. After I ate she gave me some time to gather my thoughts and the doc came in to break my water (I was dilated 2 cm before I went it and had been for weeks). Having my water broken did not hurt at all like the first time. I was just super wet obviously. So the nurse changed my gown and started pictocin. A labored fairly quickly but ended up with an emergency C-section again although I was hoping for a vaginal delivery. Baby girl's cord was wrapped twice around her neck so I'm glad the doc acted quickly. 
I will be having a scheduled C-section this time. I have no idea what to expect there but I hope it's all smooth sailing and not traumatic.

It is if your body isn’t ready for birth 😅 I was induced at 37 weeks and it took well over 48 hours to get me to 8 cm 😂 needless to say I had a c section 😂

It really wasn’t a bad experience for me honestly. They didn’t even use pitocin on me until like the last 30 minutes. There’s other methods to getting labor going than just pitocin, which is what everyone talks about and says is painful🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m going to be honest because no one was honest with me. Everyone is different and reacts differently of course but I was in agony. I went into hyper stimulation from the first pessary. No one warned me or gave me any clue of what I COULD be in for. I hope you have a painless one and all goes smoothly but I wish someone had told me the possibility so I wasn’t in so much shock

No, it’s going to be ok💗. I was induced for hypertension with both of my babies & my first induction was very easy. They used the seaweed sticks the night before to help me dilate (didn’t work) & when I got to the hospital they started me in pitocin  around 9 am.. broke my water shortly after & the worst part was how sick I got from the epidural. It just made me shaky & throw up. Baby came 8 am the next morning, I was able to sleep because of the epidural so I was well rested & I pushed for about 5 mins & he was born! My second baby was a little more difficult, he did not want to come out. I was in the hospital for 2 days before they gave me the pitocin because they were trying to get me to dilate & that was the worst process of that time. Once they gave me the pitocin I got my epidural (didn’t get sick this time) and baby came about 12 hrs later. The scary part for me was nobody was in the room and I could feel my baby’s head traveling down, ready to come out. I had to hold & not push which was extremely hard , only because they didn’t check me regularly like they should have so they had no idea I was fully dilated. They had nurses deliver the baby because the dr didn’t get there in time. I pushed for 3 mins and he was born. That process was just tiring because they waited to give me the pitocin, but it wasn’t scary. It was just exhausting.
