Hand foot and mouth

My 12 month old got hand foot and mouth from daycare he started with a fever that lasted 1 day then would barely eat or drink for the last 2 days and now this fever is back and just yesterday he started getting the rash on his hands arms and legs and now his feet. He is also very congested. Any ideas on how to help comfort my little guy? He's been cranky and clingy and will just start whining half the time when he walks. I feel so bad for him but not sure how I can help comfort him. Thanks in advance for all your advice/tips!
