How did you confirm ovulation? Was it with opks and bbt?

It can delay ovulation but I don't see how it could delay period if ovulation did occur because the corpus luteum has a pretty defined lifespan. It can only live for about two weeks without a pregnancy and once it dies there is nothing to maintain the uterine lining anymore.
