should i still take my toddler to the pediatrician? nursemaids elbow
yesterday my mom picked my 2 year old up from daycare and he was crying hysterically and he usually will calm down when he sees her but he didn’t. and she texts me telling me he won’t calm down and won’t move his arm so i leave work and get home and i move his arm and he’s crying so i ask if it’s his shoulder or elbow and he points to his elbow and says elbow. so we decide to take him to the emergency room and whenever we took him in and out the car seat he would cry. but as we’re checking in he was 100% fine so we decided to leave (long wait + lots of sick people/ kids there so felt it was more risk to be there)
so i googled about it and it was mentioning nursemaids elbow and that it can go back into place on its own and kids will typically be back to normal within 5-15 minutes. he is 100% fine now using his arm and not crying at all.
so my question is should i still follow up with the pediatrician? he has a regular checkup on 12/21 or should i bring him in sooner. TIA
