Period stops then starts up again, and heavy.
Since June I have had some weird stuff happening with my period. I will start when it’s expected every month, bleed for maybe 4 days, stop bleeding and then out of nowhere (1-2 days after stopping) start bleeding again. It’s usually medium-heavy bleeding when it starts up again.
I told my family doc about it and he ordered some lab work on my hormones. I’ve since received those but haven’t met with him because I’m not sure what expertise he has in that area and money is really tight. I’m on the low and high ends for some hormones but still within normal range. I know I probably have adrenal fatigue. Could hormones and stress cause this?
I should mention that the first time this happened I was in excruciating pain (what I can only describe as labor contractions but without it being spaced like contractions are). It only lasted an hour or so and I’ve never felt pain like that again with this delayed bleeding. I intended on talking to someone after getting home from the trip I was on but have forgotten every month since the initial weird period pain. I’m just worried with the amount of pain I was in that I may have had a miscarriage and not realized it…and now periods just aren’t the same as a result of that..
I haven’t passed any clots or anything that I’m aware of. I’m going to discuss with my trusted friend/practicing midwife but wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something like this before.
