Breastfeeding or formula? What is everyone planning on doing so far?

I know fed is best, but what’s everyone planning on doing so far with feeding- breastfeeding or formula? I’m starting on a registry for family that has asked, and I can’t decide whether I should be including bottles or stuff for breast feeding.

Good luck to everyone planning to breastfeed! I EBF my first for 6 months and then after introducing solids continued to breastfeed until he turned one.  Some of the things that helped me included:
1. I was able to have him start feeding within the first hour of being born. According to my MCN this is a great start to establishing supply.
2. Packing nipple shields in hospital bag. Getting the latch right is hard at first and there were tears and sores on my nipples, but the shield was able to come out for a few feeds when needed and really kept us going.
3. Seeing a lactation consultant before leaving the hospital to double check latch and ask any questions about establishing supply in the first 2-3 months 
4. Using a haaka! There was so much leakage in the first 2-3 months, when feeding from the first side I would use the ladybug to catch leakage on the opposite side, and then when switching to feed baby to the second side would use the haaka to extract any extra leakage from the first side. It was such an easy way to catch enough milk that my husband could feed one bottle of breastmilk per day and we still could freeze an extra bottle per day. 
5. Feeding baby on demand not a schedule, and eating to my own hunger to maintain supply (planning to have lots of nuts, dark chocolate and dried fruit as high calorie and nutritious snacks available!)
6. having really good support from everyone around me to breastfeed. It was time consuming and inconvenient at times but once I got the hang of it it was right for us…. although I should mention that my friends that formula fed felt that was better for their family, even if they had originally planned to breastfeed, so just do what’s right for you and your family :)

I plan on trying to breastfeed, at the very least I plan on trying to pump. I usually do formula but with the shortage I am going to at least try.

I agree with others, with the formula shortage still pretty bad I think it’s best to at least try just in case. I’m personally gonna try to breastfeed and pump and try my best to pump and store as much as I can 🤞🏼

with my first i planned to breastfeed till she was 6 months, but she started teething at 1 month old so she was constantly biting me instead of feeding so i stopped that and went with formula…by the time she was 3 months she had her first 2 teeth! 
im planning on breastfeeding this baby till 6-12 months aswell and hopefully this time i follow through however if not i brought a breastpump this time so i can breastfeed via bottle and not nipple :)

Should have an option for both! I BF for 9 weeks with my first but we supplemented a lot with formula. Hoping for more success this time around but likely to end up on full formula. There are a lot of variables that impact this for individual families.

I'm breastfeeding, I breastfed my last baby too, I included bottles on my registry anyway because I was scared I would lose my supply, which thankfully didn't happen until 10 months. But having bottles came in handy anyway because I pumped from time to time and my husband was able to feed her every so often, plus I gave her water in bottles when she was a bit older too
