My one year old has recently developed this really horrible screech which he will use to throw a fit when he isn’t happy about something. There is no calming him down, no comforting. For example, he hates having anything on his feet (socks,shoes, pajamas) and will start screaming whenever he can’t immediately get whatever is on his feet off. But it is freezing cold, literally in the negatives every day where we live, and I can’t let him freeze his feet until they turn purple because he doesn’t like shoes.

We’re trying to gentle parent but it’s not like we can have a conversation with him yet and the screeching drives me insane.
