Due today, neg preg test, pos. OPK test. WTF??

I know you’re not supposed to use opk after 1st positive but here it goes: 
Cycles 28-32 days. Got +OPK dec1st and BD. Estimated ovulation Dec 2nd according to app. I’m on cycle day 33 now ( was supposed to start period today). Took a pregnancy test and it was BFN. Took an ovulation test (both a strip and a digital) and they were both positive! What gives?? TTC cycle7, age 38. Also has a pap 2 days ago if that means anything 
I’m so confused. Any insight??

You can get a LH surge before period. When I found out I was pregnant I tested with opks out of curiosity. And the opk didn't turn positive until I had 3 days of a positive pregnancy test. So if pregnancy test is negative and opk is positive it most likely doesn't mean anything.

My LH is always high again before period comes. (Not positive—test line just gets really dark and almost looks positive)
LH and HCG look similar so if you have HCG that’s high enough for a pregnancy test to be positive, the OPK might mistake that HCG for LH and also be positive but it won’t be positive before the HPT. Hope that clears things up! Hate that people post their LH tests and confuse everyone.
