Almost 1 year old with fever spiking
My daughter will be 1 next week and she woke up at 5:30am with a fever of 103.6. I gave her some Motrin and it went down but slowly crept back up. 2 hours after the Motrin was given she was back to 100.5. I gave her some more Motrin at the 4 hour mark, but she spit most of it out and laid her down for a nap. I jumped in the shower and she woke up crying so my husband went back to get her. I got out and she just looked so tired. I check her temperature again and she was back up to 103.5. My husband just went to get her Tylenol because our pediatrician told us to alternate Motrin and Tylenol every 4 hours the last time she had a fever. But I’m concerned that we can’t keep her temperature under 100 degrees.
Do you think I should take her to the ER if it spikes again? I’m terrified of a seizure and unsure of what to do.
