Finally finished my memory quilted blanket
So a while back I posted about making a memory blanket out of the clothes of my great grandmother for my aunt, her only daughter. I’ve worked hard and I’ve successfully succeeded! I walked into this project with no experience in quilt or blanket making. I had no pattern, and no instructions or kit. I played it all by ear or a guess rather sight. I couldn’t ask for a better result. It has a minky fabric for the blanket back and edges, it has quilt batting between the back and front piece to make it thicker and warmer, and the front was completely cut by hand and sewn personally by myself. It’s so very nice and the perfect weight! I almost made it through without a single tear shed but I did have a meltdown today. I couldn’t find the information that I needed guidance on and just got really stressed out and my headache didn’t help, but I figured it out finally.
This is the process of putting it together and the finished product and some other fun memory ideas:
Had some bunny snuggles along the way. And don’t worry we were moving them into our barn during this time and we had removed the roof that they did have over them so we could move their cages.
