Just had a convo with my gyno and here was her response: when you start, that’s day 1. Start using the at home ovulation tests and then start having sex day 10, 12, and 14. Every other day (so your partner can “refill” and get as many swimmers in there as possible). Since sperm can last a few days inside, start right before your scheduled ovulation and the every other day. 
We’re trying too so I wish you all the luck!
