Xmas gifts
So I’ve been wrapping presents this evening while my kids are sleeping and I noticed I have way more stuff for my 3 year old than I do for my 10 year old. Now before you accuse me of having a favourite child it’s not that at all. It’s the fact that we got our 10 year old a PC for gaming that cost us an arm and a leg. So we spent more on him but he didn’t get as much stuff. The only thing he wanted for Xmas was the computer, it’s what he asked Santa for but he’s going to get it from us, mom and dad. Santa will be giving him a Lego set and some other things. I am worried tho that he’s going to see that his little sister has more. But her gifts are small like pony’s, animal figures, toy tea party set, peppa pigs, etc. stuff that he’s completely outgrown. His gifts consist of a lakers hat, a video game, gaming headphones, a stuffed animal, a book, a couple board games and some fidget toys.
I also had been shopping for them all year so when I saw a sale I’d pick something up. I also had grabbed a bunch of stuff from our local consignment store that was selling brand new items that had been consigned to them. But some of these items have banged up boxes and the price tag is hard to peel off. Since my since bday was a couple weeks ago I had wrapped one of the items up and put it from his little sister to give to him for his bday. Well tonight he asked me if the gift she gave him was used. I told him no, and he said that the box was ruined so he knew it was used. Now I’m worried that he’s going to figure that out with some of the things I got at the consignment store. Money is tight right now, we did finance the computer so I e have a year to pay it off. But as for the other gifts we really had to be careful which is why I got most of the stuff from the consignment store. My son doesn’t understand money yet and that parents don’t have all the money in the world. Man this post is getting long. I guess my worry and it’s a stupid worry is that my son is not going to understand that this computer was expensive and that’s why he isn’t getting as much physical items as his sister. I hope he doesn’t feel like we cheaped out on him when we did that all. Anyone else worry about this kind of stuff or am I the only one?! Am I crazy for even worrying about it?
