Just had our first appointment with a fertility doctor and walked away with 0 answers. It’s been 8 years with only one known pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage and I think this broke something more in me. We had tests run a couple months ago, we travelled 2.5 hours one way, only to get there and have there be no reason we haven’t conceived earlier or since.

The doctor wants to run a more thorough sperm analysis on my husband because he feels the tests run at our local lab aren’t accurate enough. Other than that all preliminary tests are great and his only recommendation was that I just lose some weight.

I woke up this morning to take my BBT and just thought, “Why bother?” It’s been 8 years. I had previously stopped with all TTC because we got nowhere and my partner wasn’t keen on testing anything but after we had an unexpected pregnancy, we decided to try again. Now after this first appointment I just can’t. I had hoped so bad for answers, for there to be something they can point to and go “ah ha!” But there’s nothing. Is this experience normal?
