Is it okay to love my two dogs differently?!
I have 2 dogs. One I got when I was 21 and severely depressed. I was skipping school, not showing up to work, and quite frankly barely getting out of bed during the day. I needed something to MAKE me get out of bed and get my life in order and so I got my first dog. I wasn’t able to take care of myself at the time, but I would be damned if I let an animal suffer because of me… so basically in the long run, taking care of her helped me take care of myself
I’m now 24 and in a MUCH better place with my mental health. It’s not perfect but I’m not at all suffering the way I used to
My fiancé and I got a second dog and I don’t know it’s just so different!!!!! Because I’m older and in a much healthier place, I just have such a different love and appreciation for this new dog
Don’t get me wrong! I have an unbreakable bond with my first dog and truly don’t know what I would do without her!!! Like truly she is my BABY
but my second dog is so insanely funny and smart and just melts my heart like crazy!!!! Like I’ve seriously never felt love for someone or something like the way I do with my new dog!! We’ve had him for about 3 months now and he’s just the BEST thing ever
I feel guilty for loving him more than my first dog because if anything I should love my first dog more for getting me out of the tough place I was in.
Is this normal??
Here’s a pic of my newest puppy to show off his goofiness❤️
