Why is it bad to get your tubes tied?

Is it bad to get my tubes tied? I keep hearing it’s a bad idea and that it messes up your body… Is this true? My aunt got her tubes cut tied and burnt and was still pregnant again so I assume that it’s ineffective. Had a discussion about it the other day amongst some other ladies I was just wondering

Because you can get post tubal ligation syndrome and it can cause you to have very painful periods. It messes with the blood flow to your ovaries which can mess with your hormones.

When I brought it up to my OB, they said they only remove them because there is a chance still to get pregnant. I still haven't gone through with it and plan on letting my husband get snipped when the time comes

It’s awful and don’t recommend! I had mine done had awful periods to where I could hardly walk the first two days! Bleeding was awful also I had to wear double pads front to back and still would leak out. I ended up dealing with it for a little over a year and went back and got a reversal, had no problems after that everything went back to normal.

It's not bad. Some people have complications but that's not the norm. They also remove the tubes now so it's as close to 100% as it gets short of total hysterectomy.

And it’s why a lot of people suggest having your partner get a vasectomy, because that procedure is far simpler. A full hysterectomy (where they remove your uterus and ovaries along with your tubes) is very rough in your body as it also permanently changes all your hormones.
