Do you see the point in gender reveal?

Personally in my opinion (don’t shoot me down)
I don’t see the point,  I’ve known people which do not feel the need to spend money on buying decorations & specific celebration venues etc,  then i know people who will spend hundreds.. Where as the money could be used in buying things needed for the nursery etc
Would just like to hear others opinions :)

I think that I would have a gender reveal but it’d be very simple. In some public park probably, with like the only 5 people I know 😂 Or maybe I’d surprise them during a get-together in my house. But I would not make it a huge party. I do agree that the money could be better spent on other things but If you got it like that then that’s your prerogative 🤷🏻‍♀️

We didn’t with either of our children. We just found out together in private both times. But I’m not much for hosting events like that in general.

If people has the $$$ then let them be lol if im barely making any money why spend that money but if im earning over 100k a year and 8,000 party is like spending 10 dollars then why not?

I think it’s a personal preference. It’s not for everyone, but I don’t knock people who do it. I probably wouldn’t do a big elaborate gender reveal party—I’d save the partying for the actual baby shower—but I would do some sort of smaller scale reveal. I think it’s fun and builds the anticipation.

It’s a milestone and fun. We bought $10 confetti things and announced during a 4th of July party at my parents. For my first, we had an actual separate thing but money isn’t really an issue for us. We did a taco bar and just bought some blue and pink table cloths. Maybe spent $50 on the whole thing.

To me, it’s just something people do to celebrate and cute. Also it takes alot of time to get pregnant and stay pregnant.

I didn’t have a gender reveal with my first, but we are planning on throwing a huge one for our second . This will be my last pregnancy, and because of Covid we couldn’t do much for our first. So this time around  we are celebrating every little milestone with family and friends. 
Also we have the money to afford a  gender reveal and we also have money to make a nice nursery. I think it’s kind of weird to have expectations on people when it comes to them spending money . After all they are the ones spending the money regardless if we think it’s extra or too expensive.
