Exercising tips with 3yr old in the morning

RyRy

I am determined to start working out in the mornings next week. I have tried several times to set routines with my toddler over the last year or so but nothing works: it’s like the earlier I wake up, the earlier she does too. Some mornings she’s ok to just play or watch me but most of the time when she’s awake too early, she’s upset and needs attention / soothed back to sleep. She always seems to be a super light sleeper / tries to wake between 4:30-6ish. I prefer she sleep until 6:30-7 otherwise she has a very long day. It also allows me to try and exercise or get some things done around the house so when she does wake up I can give her my full attention.

She is 3 in a couple weeks I love her so much, but I NEED to start exercising again. My husband is home next week from work so I’m hoping he can help with keeping her down or getting her in the habit of sleeping through her lighter times.

But otherwise I am looking for ANY tips on exercising with a toddler. I work from 8:30-5pm, so exercising in the morning is the best. I also exercise in our basement so sound shouldn’t be an issue. I have set out coloring books, breakfast snacks, and even a tablet for her to use as soon as she’s awake. I’ve tried giving her attention for a few mins and explaining mommy needs to do this for a little longer and then I can give her my full attention. Some mornings she is ok with all of that but most of the time she just wants me in the mornings. By the time she’s received all the attention she needs to be calm, it’s time for me to shower and start getting ready. She is so good at being independent but mornings are just not her time for that. So any tips are greatly appreciated.
