I have no idea how to start this but I guess I should start with she’s not my SIL yet but I am engaged to her brother,Corey, and have been part of the family for awhile. SIL and Corey have a rocky relationship due to her getting everything she wants from their family and him being treated poorly because he’s male (crazy I know). Corey and I have recently bought a house and are combining our family into one. We’re currently renovating and have no kitchen since we took it down to the studs. He’s living with his parents and has been for a long time, his 5 year old lives there as well and has her entire life. I sold my house to get a bigger house and have been staying with my mother.

SIL wanted to come home for the holidays and insisted that Corey must go to his own house so she can have her 1 year old there. And at first his mother was on board with this and then Corey flipped out because they were expecting us to take a 5 year old to a house that isn’t in appropriate condition for a child to be at. Shit hit the fan and then it turned into that we would all be staying at his parents. SIL made a huge deal about her kid not sleeping in the same room as her and her husband and forced Corey’s 5 year old out of her room, she then forced her mother to put garbage bags over the windows because her 1 year old sleeps with blackout curtains. She made rules that nobody is allowed to make noise after 9 pm and made huge stink about people getting up in the night to use the bathroom because it could disturb her baby. Meanwhile myself, my own, daughter, Corey, and his daughter were all expected to sleep in a room. She also forced everyone to not have the tv on and would stand in front of it until someone turned it off because her 1 year old isn’t allowed screen time.

The following day we went to his grandmas to visit and we’re told that his aunt was sick so his grandma visited with us in her kitchen to be away from his aunt in the living room. We were only there briefly and SIL threw a tantrum like a child saying we could not come back to Corey’s parents because we could make them all sick and we needed to find somewhere else to go. This finally put corey into a screaming match with her and we were allowed to stay but she made comments to his 5 year old about staying away from them and all this ignorant shit. SIL left and threatened her mom with saying she’s not welcome at their house anymore and she lied to them and all this dramatic bullshit. I strongly feel she’s out of line and wants to blame everyone else when she is the problem.
