Inconsolable crying - 10 week old :(

Lauren

Hi all, just looking for some advice!

I have a 10 week old baby boy. For the last 3-4 weeks, he seems to inconsolably cry from about 8/9pm in the evening and it can last an hour or two before he settles and falls asleep. I put it down to being overtired, and I'm trying my best to get frequent naps etc in in the day but he still does it without fail every night. He usually gets up about 9am, stays awake for around 1.5-2 hours (I've tried shortening this but for weeks around 2 hours seems the norm for him). He will then to for an about 45 minute nap about 11. Same again, he will be up for 2 hours and go down for a longer 2-3 hour nap about 1ish. He seems to have always had this longer one in the afternoon.. and then again he wakes and after about 2 hours has about an hour nap. This is usually about 6ish. After about 2 hours again I notice his cues and I do exactly as I do in the day to get him to settle, plus extra bits like changing him, getting him in his sleep sack etc! If he's due a feed he will have one too. But from about 8pm, rather than going to sleep easily like he does throughout the day, he will inconsolably cry? He doesn't want to be cuddled, picked up, led down, put in his crib, anything he just cries and cries. The only thing that seems to help him now is putting him in his car seat and pushing him in the pram until he falls asleep. I then take him up to his crib where he will wake about 30 minutes later screaming the place down for a little while before settling again. This being due to the fact he's probably confused going to sleep and waking in a different place?

Could anyone shed some light on what I could possibly do :-( it's the same thing every night I honestly dread the evening time now. I don't know if there's something wrong or if this is normal but it's been about 3-4 weeks now and I'm a first time mum and feel clueless right now :-( any help would be appreciated!! ❤️
