Help! We got a diffuser for Christmas, which I’m thrilled to use, but we have toddlers and a cat, what oils are safe to use?

I know some oils can be toxic to young kiddos & pets, can someone with knowledge on these share what would be safe?

I wouldn’t diffuse any essential oil in the same room as a toddler or cat.  They are extremely potent and made up of hundreds/thousands of chemicals.  
A simmer pot (without essential oils) to freshen or clear a room with citrus peels, cinnamon or clove or other herbs is safer.

I go to an all natural store and use lavender, cedar wood, lemongrass and peppermint. Each room has a different smell very lightly. My son also gets CBD oils mixed with lavender to sleep
