Parents of adhd children?

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone on here is a parent of an adhd diagnosed child/toddler. We’ve been suspecting my 3.5 year old is and he was evaluated last week and I’m just I guess wondering what other parents journeys have been like while navigating this?

Where I live can’t get diagnosed till they’re 6 so my son just got diagnosed 6 months ago when he turned 6. We suspected around 3/4 though.

My daughter was diagnosed at 4 years old. The Pre-K teacher at my daughter's school told me to go check it out at a clinic and also are the camp teacher that year told me that they suspected it...she was put on guanfacine and later methylphenidate...this is her cocktail and it works without making her a zombie....

My daughter was diagnosed with a processing disorder at 21 months. We’re fairly certain it’s ADHD but can’t get an official diagnosis until she’s closer to 4 (she’s almost 3 now). I have ADHD as do several members of my family so it’s most likely that. The hardest part has been dealing with family members that think her behavior is something she will outgrow, or that think my decisions regarding treatments are “overreactions.” my daughter is in occupational therapy and it helps tremendously. Growing up in a time where ADHD kids were just labeled as “bad listeners” or “easily distracted” I know to advocate for her that she’s not a bad listener or distracted or being rude etc. her brain is wired a little differently and that’s ok. There are still a lot of stigmas so one of the best things I can do is work to break them. Patience and routine are a big part of our day. It’s tough and we have a lot of tantrums but I know she will be fine in the long run.
