Should the legal marriage age be higher? Why or why not

I have a thought provoking question (primarily pertains to the us) but anyone can answer 
Should the legal age to get married be higher? Because I think at 18 you’re barely an adult and mostly likely just graduated high school. Good for you if you’re able to but I think 18 is too young (especially even 17 w parent consent)
I personally think it should be 21 but I’m curious to hear others opinions

No. If they can start adult life, enlist in the military, vote, take out huge amounts of loans, etc they should be able to get married. People should do a better job raising their children to be more mature by the time they hit 18 instead of just delaying adult life for the others who are mature enough.

I’d prefer to focus on banning all child marriage, even with parental consent. 17 is bad enough, but some states go even lower. 
I think 18 is still too young, but it syncs up with most other adult privileges and responsibilities. I don’t see much to be gained by more legal restrictions. I would however advise young people considering marriage to take their time and do some premarital counseling to see if they’re really ready first.

I think 18 is fine. But we need to take away child marriage with parent permission or judges say. No 14-17 year old should be married! If you truly love someone at those ages you can wait.

i think it’s should be 18. same with everything else including buying alcohol and nicotine. if 18 is the age of an adult, as an adult you should have the same rights as everyone else. that doesn’t mean i think many 18 year olds are mature enough or should get married, but i don’t think the government should put their nose in it.

I had a whole ass child when I was 16. People can fight in WARS at 18. If you can go and shoot people and be shot at, you should be able to get married and do any other adult thing. Honestly if an 18 year old can go into the army, they should be able to drink as well in my opinion.

I don’t agree, I got married at 18, not just 18 but literally a month after I turned 18. This year we will be married for 10 years. I regret nothing. It’s definitely something that not everyone should be doing at 18 but it works for some of us. I think there are different issues that need to be paid attention to over the legal age for marriage.
