Hi mamas! My almost three year old is on crazy long waitlist for autism assessment. We were told during our last well-child visit that it could take as long as a year. In the meantime, I don’t just want to sit down with arms folded while all this time is passing. I would like to help my baby while waiting and I have not idea where to start. We are new to Louisiana and the U.S. in general. I would be glad if any one who is in Louisiana or who has some experience could tell me of any helpful resources, groups to join or things I can do at home to help him with speech and oral communication.
