How do you get your baby to nap?

Question

FTM here and baby is four weeks today. I’m having such a hard time getting her to nap during the day she will fall asleep in my arms. If I try ￼to transfer her to the bassinet, she wakes up. I’ve also tried to lay her down drowsy, but this does not work. I have read a few things that say she is too young to let her cry too much so I pick her up pretty quickly. Any and all advice/recommendations appreciated.

Newborns need their mamas. Let baby sleep on your chest or in your arms and if you need to get stuff done, put baby in a wrap. They’ve just spent 9 months inside you so they crave your smell, warmth, heartbeat and motion. It’s totally normal for babies to not want to sleep in their cribs and the western world is really the only ones you enforce this way of sleep. Away from their moms. Everyone else in the world co sleeps and you wouldn’t believe how well rested and low the SIDS rates are. Anyways, down from soapbox lol. 
I’d recommend baby wearing. :) you can start trying for bassinet at first nap of the day and first stretch of sleep at night. Get baby dead asleep before laying down if you want a chance at them sleeping there. Newborns are much to young to be able to put themselves to sleep from the crap of “drowsy but awake”. Are you swaddling her? 
My babies are 4 weeks today and have transitioned out of the newborn sleep where I can lay them down and they stay asleep. I have to swaddle them if I want them to stay asleep now.
