Is this enough food for my baby?

Okay my baby is 9 months old. We give him about 10 tablespoons of baby cereal a day ( before mixed with the liquid) once mixed with breastmilk I also add a full 90g fruit pouch over the course of a day which is one of the smaller sized pouches I can find. On top of this my baby has 350ml breatmilk on average everyday. Is this enough food for him?

I have approval from his pediatrician and according to his pediatrician it is enough but he's only gaining about 2 ounces weight wise every week and we feel like that's not good..

I am confused. 350ml which is 11.8oz of breastmilk a day. Is that it or is baby being nursed also? Cause if it’s 11.8oz a day that is half the total intake baby needs a day. Baby should be having 25oz average of breastmilk a day. Baby cereal is not nutritional at all. Baby should be on real foods at this age learning chewing and swallowing and textures. Not pouches or baby food.

Until 1yo, if baby is only getting breast milk (no formula) they should have about 720-900ml breast milk per day, and from 6mo add in food. But food shouldn’t displace breast milk consumption.

Consider seeing a pediatric dietitian if possible Doctors unfortunately have little to no nutrition or lactation education At 9 months baby should have breast milk as main source of nutrition and be on complementary regular table foods for the most part 350ml wouldn’t be enough milk and baby should be offered a variety of solids Check out solid starts online and Instagram too

I would look into giving him what you eat. Instead of soft food.

First, remember until one year that a baby's MAIN nutrition source needs to be breast milk or formula. Other food should only be added as extra. What kind of cereal are you feeding? Things like plain rice cereal has no nutritional value, it's just a filler. Something like this is full of nutrition. You could try actual fruites, vegetables, grains and legumes though rather than cereal and fruit pouches because honestly those things usually have little to no nutritional value. BUT At 9months old you don't have to worry about how much food a baby is eating if they are having plenty of breast milk or formula.

That's not enough milk. Breast milk or formula needs to be the main source of nutrition until age 1.

By 9 months we were pretty much done with baby food and my kids were eating table food besides nursing...basically whatever we ate in small soft pieces. One of my kids had a hard time with textures so he waited until more like 11 months for table food, but we fed him mostly fruit and veggie purees vs cereals.

I mean, I give my 4 year old 4 tablespoons of porridge in the morning, so 10 seems like quite a substantial amount. Is there any reason for not offering vegetables?
