My son is almost 6. I had my first 2 boys circumcised but not him, because my other two ended up having to have corrective surgeries at 6 months because they were not done correctly! So when he came along I just said no. Anyway his pediatrician said don’t ever retract it and that the skin will separate on its own eventually usually after 3 years old. We’ve never had any issues until yesterday. He came home from school and said his weenie hurt and the foreskin was red. Today I checked it and it was scabbed over! I asked if he has been pulling on it and he says he was. I’m making an appointment for him first thing Monday morning since his pediatrician’s office is closed on the weekends, but could him yanking on it have caused this? Or is this something to do with poor hygiene on our part? I know he washes his weenie in the bath because I still supervise him but I never see him yank it back or anything. I’m just confused and sad and feeling like maybe I should’ve had him snipped anyway. 😔
