Foster parents looking for advice
I am a first time foster mother of beautiful three month old baby boy that I’ve had since he was 18 days old. from the beginning we have been given very little information on his case. All I know is that some mom is from California and has four other kids in the system. Three of been adopted and one is still in foster care. My little one is number five. We don’t know if the siblings are having adopted are together or with family, or if they are all separated as well. Every time I ask for information on the siblings, they say they don’t have anything. A few weeks after we brought him home we got a call that he might be a California case and if there was a hearing to see if he would be moving we were told that California had denied his case and then he was a Nevada resident since then we have gotten hardly any new information but last week they called me and said that California decided to take his case and that he would be going to stay with his sibling in foster care. I have made it clear that we are adoptable home for this little boy and his sibling. I don’t know if there’s anything that we can do to keep him here. They were going to pick him up last Friday, but we have been diagnosed with RSV so about us a couple extra days with our little bundle. His social worker was going to contact us on Monday to kind of touch base and see how he was feeling and reschedule his pick up but we haven’t heard anything as of yet. Is this normal? I get a weird feeling from this situation, any advice, appreciate it.
