Should wait or when should I test?

Question

Last LMP was October, no period on November and December. I spotted one day on January 3rd thinking it be my period I did experience cramps on and off. Took a test two days ago and negative.

I’m in the same situation had a period in November spotted one day dec no period now I have a lot of cramping but I haven’t tested yet

I'd wait a few days or even until next week to retest if af still doesn't show. 
If you haven't had a period in 90 days then you should contact your doctor also.
