What strategies worked to start labour naturally?

And how long were you trying to start labour for?

I did red raspberry tea, dates, 40+ squats/day, 30+ flights of stairs/day, curb walking, evening primrose oil, sex, pumping, etc. I even hiked up a mountain the day before my due date. I went HARD trying everything you can think of and never even had so much as Braxton hicks. The day after my due date I decided to kick my feet up and do absolutely nothing. Of course that’s the day that my water broke while taking a nap. I think all of my efforts were worth it because I ended up having an amazing labour (3 hours of contractions total before she was born) but I think my body needed to be in a more relaxed state in order to actually enter labour. With baby #2 I’m going to do it all again, but give myself more rest days along the way.

I ate 7 dates/day and on the 3rd day I delivered.  I was 37 weeks with my first.  My midwife had recommended!

Rolling on a birthing ball, nipple stimulation, walking up and down stairs. I was rolling on my ball (bent front over) on the night and within 3 hours I was having contractions I had him 4 hours later.

I bounced on a ball and stuff for weeks just to help get them in a better position . But I had a sweep pumped that night and water broke 5am at 39+6 with my first born 13.5 hours later . I had a sweep pumped that night and water broke 1030am with my second at 39+5.
