36 + 1 and HE is here!!

Melissa

Firstly I just want to remind everyone to listen to your bodies. I was sent to L&D by my OB on Jan, 8th; I was hypertensive and cramping with 2 cm dilation. They got my BP down and sent me on my way.

Fast forward 2 days to Jan 10. Intense cramping, sweating and my heart feeling like it’s galloping out of my chest. Is this what labor feels like? I’ve only ever been induced so I truly don’t know what natural feels like. My husband tells me to call 911😆😆😂 NO way am I doing that so he calls out of work and takes me to L&D.

Im sweating so bad that I can’t breathe and my mucus plug comes out at some point while he’s driving. My sweet husband keeps asking if it hurts??! Lol omg so I honestly say, “you would be crying”!! We get to L&D and in the time that I’m dropped off and my husband comes in from parking the car, there are 5 nurses and a midwife with me prepping for my c-section that will happen in 45 minutes. My BP was 196/127 and the only way to get it down is to deliver. Im so happy with the way the team took me seriously and didn’t hesitate and even more happy that even though it was, it didn’t feel chaotic at all.

Douglas Reid was born at 3:45 on Jan 10th and is pure perfection. I had a tubal so I’m feeling the after effects of that more than the c section itself (my third). My blood pressure was still high today at my follow up so I was given meds 2x daily but I’m ok with that because I’m so blessed.

Never second guess yourself❤️
