I want to go home

So my bf and I currently live in Erie,PA. I’ve lived here for about 3 years but it’s never really felt like home. I only live about 45 minutes to an hour away from my hometown in NY but I never really get to see my family except on special occasions (Christmas, mine/my sons birthday, etc.). It makes me feel kind of lonely. I want to move back home (not even to my parents house, just to my hometown) but my bf refuses to move to NY because of some of the laws or something. It makes me really sad.
