How much did you pay for your child’s braces?

My son is 12 and will be needing braces later this year. How much do they run? The one office I went to gave me an estimate of 7k. Seems rather high 😓

My son is getting Invisalign. It’s 3500$ all together. Our insurance pays 1500$.

I would think it depends on the amount of work needed. I know when I went for my eval they quoted me about $2,500-3,000 for pretty basic braces, nothing fancy. Strictly to align my bite. But that’s also with my insurance who covered about $1,000.

My mom paid around 7k for kine but that included multiple tooth extractions and surgeries on my mouth, and my retainer, any extra appointments. They had a set amount from the beginning and had my mom on a payment plan. She paid like 150 every month for years.
