How to remove a name from house title?

Husband came home drunk tonight for the last time.  I’m figuring out how to split our assets quickly.  I’m sure he will be fine with me taking over a property we own in another state.  He never cared for that house anyway and I’m the one who paid for it with the funds from my work.  We are currently renting it out.  Can anyone tell me if this is possible, and if so, how?

You can't take his name off of anything unless he signs the paperwork. It's gonna get messy even if you think he will be ok with you having it. He can make you sell the property and split the money half and half.

Entirely depends on your state. In our state marital property is split 50/50 and it has to go through the courts. When my dad divorced his first wife, he didn’t want anything but his clothes and vehicle. The judge asked him multiple times if he was sure because he was entitled to much more. Oftentimes the person keeping the house buys out the other person’s share.

You can’t. You need a lawyer to negotiate which assets belong to who. His name is on it so he owns it wether he paid for it or not.
