Newborn Pack n Play

Did you have your baby sleep in a pack n play? We debated on a bedside bassinet or just using our pack n play for our baby (due next month) until we transition her to her own room/her crib. I’m deciding on using the pack n play that comes with the infant bassinet and height can be adjusted so it’s easier to grab her and put her back in. I know babies have to have a firm surface to sleep, the pack n play though is so hard lol. Did your baby sleep on it okay? I’ve seen mixed reviews of people adding a 3” mattress but that does freak me out a little bit. Did you add a quilted mattress protector pad? did you use sheets? Did you use a waterproof protector sheet? Please let me know if you used a pack n play for your newborn or 6 months n under and any thing you bought for it! Thank you!!!
