I’m worried I have retained placenta. I gave birth 14 days ago and the bleeding was very light. I passed 2 clots in the hospital, 1 about golf ball sized and the other a bit smaller than that. Nothing since. Starting day 10 there was a large increase in bleeding, the bleeding became very dark and every time I wipe there’s a lot of dark blood there. The toilet water is mainly clear but it looks like little pieces of tissue or maybe pooling (I say pooling because if I look down I can see a long string of blood hanging out of my vagina) at the bottom of the toilet. I’ve been having pretty consistent period like cramps since the bleeding increased as well as overall pressure in my bum/vagina. I am EBF. I have an appointment tomorrow but I’m wondering if this sounds like retained placenta? The main reason I’m worried this might be it is because 1. I didn’t start bleeding heavy til 10 days pp. 2. I’ve read that the color should lightening. 3. I’ve heard that afterbirth pains or cramping should stop within a couple days of birth.
