30+ weeks non stress tests?

Starting Monday I am going to have weekly appointments. I will go in for an ultrasound and non stress test for an hour and then see my doctor after. Anyone know what a non stress test is and why I might be getting them every week?

Non stress test every 2 weeks after the 30th week is standard in Germany, then every week at the 36 weeks mark I think...

A non stress test is when a monitor is wrapped around your belly to monitor the babies kicks and heartbeat. As far as why you personally will be having them you need to ask your ob. 
I will have them once a week from 32 weeks. Because I am considered high risk because my baby has a 2 vessel cord with no other complications.
