Working until 38+4?

So I'm currently thinking that my last day of work will be when I'm 38 + 4 weeks. Honest opinions, is this wishful thinking/stupid? Haha. Did anyone work this long (or longer) and how did you find it?

For both my kids I worked until the day I went into labor. For my first I went into labor on thanksgiving so I already had the day off. My second I worked about two hours until I couldn’t handle the contractions and then went to the hospital

With both of my kids I worked until the day of. I was sent home with my some and asked to come back for induction two days later and still went in to work the next day haha With our second, I was literally working on spreadsheets through my contractions but I was also able to work from home with the second.

I worked until I was in labor. Tbh, in labor, I was still making lesson plans, after my water broke.

I worked up until the day before I went into labor with my first. I’m planning to take 5 days before this time around to get last minute things ready🤞🏻but I think it’s completely what is comfortable for you. I have a lot of things I have to finish up work wise before I take leave, or I would probably take off earlier.

I Worked up until my water broke 🤷🏻‍♀️ I saw no reason to waste my leave before the baby had come. And it made the time go by faster. Unless you’re being induced, You could still have another 2 weeks left or more. But thats also depending on how physical your job is.

I worked until 36+4 and I was dying then thinking how can I even function on maternity leave. Now that it’s been two weeks I’m 38+2 and baby dropped I feel like I could work for another month 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️ it all depends. I feel like I can run a marathon at this point in pregnancy somehow. You just never know.

My plan is to work until 39+2, but I am able to work remotely starting at 37+2 (ah…that’s this week), I would say it depends a lot on the work you do. For me it definitely helps to have a distraction, but I am also ready to walk away at anytime since baby can come at anytime.
