Painkillers after c section?

Do you have your operation and then that's it or do they usually prescribe you with pain relief? I don't see how paracetamol will help surely something stronger?

I've had two c sections and didn't need anything other than ibuprofen after whatever they gave me during surgery wore off.

I was prescribed oxy enough for a week or so. 
Mine was an emergency csection so they couldn't be super gentle.

In Germany you only get some light Ibuprofen and to be honest I don’t get why you prescribe such hard drugs in the US after surgery. For me 5-6 days of normal Ibuprofen was perfectly fine. I had other surgery than my c-section as well and it was the same wouldn’t take anything stronger.

I was given stronger, but didn’t need it for long. The first time I think I took them longer than I needed, so for the second I only took them the first week, decreasing a little bit as I went. Some people experience pain and have different healing experiences than others, so how much you’ll need is depending on that.

Oxycodone for about a week worth but only supposed to take 1-2 pills daily if needed so they gave me a limited amount... Along with ibuprofen 600 mg and a stool softener! I had a repeat C-Section with my twins and both tubes removed during it. I was in slightly more pain this last time around due to them shifting things around to get my tubes removed.

I think I was given oxy with my emergency c-section, I took it for almost all they gave me, almost. And I was being bugged by 2 family members about it, one wanting to sell it, the other take it. I never gave it to be sold, but I was guilt tripped into giving some for her pain, as though I wasn't in pain 🤷‍♀️

I was given a weeks worth of oxy for my first emergency cesarean and then with my second I got a week of dilaudid. I didn't use the whole prescription either time because I didn't like the way it made me feel. Extra strength Tylenol and ibuprofen did just fine after the first 2 days or so.

I mostly used ibuprofen and Tylenol. I had about 10 oxy that I used the very first day then one day after I over did it.

For my c-section with my first daughter, they gave me Vicodins, i didn’t like them, so i stuck to ibuprofen and did just fine
