Covid 19 in the 1st Trimester

Protect yourself against Covid 19.

The virus is still very much risky for pregnant women. During pregnancy, your immune system is weakened, therefore making you more susceptible to catching the virus.

I am 8 weeks 1 day, currently and spent the entire 7th week of pregnancy quarantined and extremely sick from Covid. You're offered an antiviral. However, if you're not high risk, it isn't worth the risk.

As we know, Covid is in our before actual symptoms appear. Prior to testing positive, I started to spot and cramp at 6 weeks 4 days. The spotting and cramping were not horrible, but it worried me due to a previous loss. I went to the ER, and everything was fine, I heard a heartbeat, and my HCG was fine. I was told by my provider that the spotting and cramps were likely my bodies way of reacting to the virus. I haven't had any more cramps or spotting since our bodies react differently to these things. Just be mindful of what you're feeling. I mistook my symptoms of pregnancy symptoms because, at first, it was not much different.

I recommend getting yourself tested regularly and wearing a mask for your health. Covid is no joke, especially for the mama's.
